Bharatanatyam is the oldest classical dance tradition in India. The dance form was prevalent in South India, and several books have codified it, such as the Natya Shastra by Bharata Muni (Sanskrit: भरत मुनि). It is a dance known for its grace, purity, tenderness and sculptural poses. It is often considered to be the mother of all classical dances. Bharatanatyam dance is often paired with Carnatic Music in many languages from the Indian subcontinent.
The dancer is introduced to the foundations of Indian Classical Dance.
The dancer develops the techniques to master nritta (intricate footwork) and is introduced to abhinayam (expression)
The dancer is provided with the expertise of Abhinaya (Expression) along with Advanced Theory.
This is our advanced classical troupe who get to perform complex Indian classical choreography. One must have a minimum of 5 years of formal training in Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi or Odissi to be part of this troupe. Audition based entrance only.
