I started dancing as a child and did performances in my school back in India. I am also a Kuchipudi dancer and have done a few performances for it. I believe that dance is the most beautiful form of art, and we need to embrace it! I remember sitting in front of the TV obsessively watching dance videos. I also remember when I first signed up for Aakriti not knowing how amazing it was and now three years later, I can’t understand why I haven’t joined earlier! I’ve not only improved in dance but made an impeccable number of friends through the years. The two days of performances are the most magical and fun times. Having a teacher like Lavanya Aunty was the cherry on top! I cannot wait for more years with Aakriti!
I am a student at Tesla STEM High School, and I have been doing dance since I was 4 years old. I participated in Bollywood dance classes and shows as well as performing at Diwali gatherings. I have experience in Bollywood and Semi-classical dance. I have been a part of Aakriti Dance Academy since the Once Upon a Time show in 2017, and I have loved being able to learn and grow as a dancer here. Throughout my years at Aakriti Dance Academy, I have been able to greatly improve as a performer and become much more confident on stage. Dance has allowed me to be more connected to my Indian culture and develop a passion for it. I am so excited to be able to share my love of dance with younger students this year!

Aakriti Dance Academy allowed her to become in touch with her Indian heritage and step outside of her comfort zone in creative ways. She has learned how to express herself through dance and has developed an innate passion for it, becoming more and more confident. Dhyana is grateful for the academy and everyone that has been there for her in journey of dance, and looks forward to continuing it throughout her life.

Last year, as part of the Aakriti Initiative he drove a dance and fitness workshop that helped raise $2500 to Sankara Healthcare Foundation. While not dancing, Dhruv enjoys playing soccer, watching movies, solving Sudoku and math puzzles, or following NFL / NCAA Basketball tournaments.
Neha is a student at Redmond High School, who enjoys dance, debate, and theater. They’ve been performing in dance for ten years, and joined Aakriti dance in 2019. Since then, she’s had a great time performing, recording videos, and is excited to start choreographing and teaching! Indian dance has helped her incorporate her culture with her daily life and feel at home with people who have many of her same experiences. She is thankful for her parents who’ve supported her, Dhyana, for being her go-to dance partner, and all the teachers and choreographers they’ve had over the years. Neha specializes in Bollywood, hip-hop, and fusion dance, and she cannot wait to show off what her students can do!
Prisha is thrilled to be a part of Aakriti Dance this year!
